Tuesday Tales

This is from my WIP, White Queen, the third in the Jessica Sales Novel Series. Today I wanted to give you, my dear readers, an idea of what she’s going up against. Enjoy.

Word prompt- future

“Ronny, isn’t that Alfonso?”

“Yeah, and that looks like the same woman he was talking to when we headed out for our cruise.”

h“Which means he’s either not interested in anyone right now or he’s still checking out who to grab,” Jessica replied, a hint of relief in her voice.

She knew or at least suspected it was only going to be a matter of time before another young woman disappeared into the slave void. Eventually to return a drug addicted shell of her former self. That’s if she was luck.

If the rumors were true most never made it back into the world, alive. Once the buyer was bored with the person they’d either sell the woman to someone, usually a whorehouse owner, or kill them and dump the body where it couldn’t be found.

“I don’t think he’d risk grabbing one in the group but will wait until they’re alone. My guess, on land someplace,” she continued.

“I agree. What I’d love to know is where he takes them on these little day excursions?” Martina added, stepping out onto the aft deck.

“So would I. knowing that might give us an idea when and where the snatch would take place,” Toby said, joining his wife.

“Well, I’m glad to see you both enjoyed your little nap,” Jessica teased.

“Trust me, he’s just about his old, young, self,” Martina replied, wrapping an arm around his waist.

What none of them noticed was John climbing up the stern ladder in a wetsuit with a dive mask and rebreather in his hand.

“I only heard part of the conversation but now we can follow Alfonso wherever he goes,” John said, bringing everyone back on topic.

“How,” Ronny asked, not surprised at the sneakiness of the man.

“I bet you slipped a GPS transmitter on his boat,” Jessica said, answering John’s and the others question.

“You got it. Knew you wouldn’t mind me doing it either?” John confidently replied

Acting independently within certain safe guidelines, where none of them were hurt, was why she loved her team. Time after time one or the other had done something, big or little, which made their mission a success. Now, with the tracking devise hidden under the waterline of the Alfonso’s yacht they could safely follow him.

With skill, because she didn’t believe luck had anything to do with accomplishing the job, the future of one or more of those women was going to be assured.

“You’re right John. I was going to suggest we do it,” she said, then “let’s head back to the chateau I want to get as much information on him we can.”

“Good idea. Are you going to contact The Consortium about him? Or do you think he’s already on their radar?” Ronny asked, knowing she sometimes tended to go on her own with the teams approval.
