Tuesday Tales

This week I’m taking you back to the story I started a few weeks ago, White Queen. This is a WIP so you can expect to possible find an error or three.

This scene is written to the picture prompt shown here:

The sound of a cork popping forced her to glance right at the tall, handsome man standing in the cabin doorway.

“My darling, would you care for a sip,” he asked.

She liked the sound of his voice, husky with just the right amount of sensualness. He, she thought, sounded like one of those famous Hollywood actors, not the wimpy boys she knew back home.

Not getting an immediate reply he took another step into the plush master suite. The room, spanning the width of the ship, was decorated in earth-tones which complimented the deep all-natural tan he sported. The center point was the bed, custom made to his exacting specification and covered in a medium tan comforter.

Lifting her head she continued take in the other features. The windows, floor to ceiling or was it desk to roof she had no idea, where covered with blood red draped to keep the sun light out. From what little illumination that was able to seep in hinted at late afternoon.

The gentle rocking motion of the ship seemed to lull her into a sense of well-being. Not hearing the engine told her they were at anchor in some port, possible one of those hide- away isles she’d heard and read so much about. The kind of islands where, in ancient times, pirate would hide out on while waiting for unsuspecting ships to pass by before claiming them as their prize. Killing the men and taking the women to be sold as sex slave.

The slap of bare feet on the wooden deck forced her attention back to the man.

“Well,” he asked.

“Yes, please.” She couldn’t believe how weak her voice sounded.

“Then earn the right,” he said unzipping his pants.

She screamed as his hand connected with her face.

Beautiful work up to an awesome ending. I’m hoping she can get herself out this situation situation she got herself into.

Wow! You surprised me with the violent ending…well done, Lindsay. This story is intriguing. Love the way your description lulled me into a warm and fuzzy mode until the rude awakening at the end.

  4. Davee Jones says:

He sounds like a true modern day pirate. Taking what he wants, very much a buccaneer.

  5. Sue says:

I agree the contrast between the description and the last line is stunning

  6. Hope she gets out of this situation. Great surprise ending to the scene.

  7. Love the unexpected ending – like – where did that come from:-)
