Tuesday Tales

This week, instead of a word prompt, we’re writing to a picture prompt. We had 4 to choose from and this is the one I liked as it goes so well with my current untitled WIP.

Stepping out onto the porch she gasped at the beauty before her. The pine trees had been skillfully thinned allowing an uninterrupted view of the lake. The only thing which concerned her was the furniture, two recliner wooden chairs and nothing else. She wondered if he set a trap for her, after all they were mortal enemies in one form and coworkers in another.

“I know I’m not early and it’s the right day,” she mumbled to herself. “I wonder if he knows about my other half?”

No sooner had those few words slipped from her lips than her nose detected a disarming stench, one she’d only learned to recognize a few days ago.

Her dreaded enemy and one which Dominika, her lover, had warned her about.

Having been initiated into the sisterhood several weeks ago she knew there was a lot to learn and traps was one of them. A light breeze brought the smell once again to her nose telling her the beast was getting closer. Knowing she couldn’t outrun it, in human form, Tatiana’s hand automatically reached for the talisman hanging from her neck.

Before she could blink her body transformed into a wolverine with teeth bared and hackles spiked. Against her better judgment with her wolverine claws retracted, maybe to preserve the beautiful wooden deck, she stalked to its edge smelling for the monster with a twitching nose.

Then, without warning the stink disappeared to be replaced with the sexy, erotic fragrance of a man. And from what her muzzle discerned someone very strong and well-muscled.

The sound of footsteps approaching through the brush brought her eyes to the left. She saw him, naked against the setting sun.

Tatiana changed back to her human form not realizing she was nude also.

Tatiana didn’t blush, just nodded.

Well. well, naked man and woman greeting each other? But she prefers women to men, right? Still I’m sure she can appreciate a handsome form when she sees one. I like this scene. You’ve made me want to know more, like why she’s not embarrassed — because she preferes women? I could go on, but it’s late. Well done, Lindsay.

  2. Nice, shifters can be fun. I like the story.

  3. Sherry Gloag says:

An interesting scene, and, given my warped sense of humour, I wonder shat she, in particular, is going to do for clothes when she has leave and go back to her own place? Great scene.

  4. Iris B says:

Wow Lindsay … you’re really changing genres all the time … shifters this time! … Interesting post … I look forward to reading more about their “naked encounter”

  5. Vicki Locey says:

    Ooo, shifters! What fun.

  6. Sarah Cass says:

Very intriguing scene. I’m curious about these two…

Very interesting. I guess we know who the bear is. Even if she prefers females to males she did enjoy his sexy erotic masculine scent. I can appreciate that. 😉

  8. I’m digging it. Great use of the picture prompt.

Wow Lindsay, do you know how to keep us hanging. A naked man, and the erotic fragrance of one. I can’t wait to read what happens next week.

  10. I love shifters but have never had the courage to try writing them… This is going to be a great read to track…xx

  11. Tricia says:

Hmmm…I really can’t wait to learn more about these two. A naked man and woman on a isolated deck. I am very intrigued!

  12. Davee Jones says:

Ahh, the smell of raw primal sexuality. wonder if he was the bear at first? great TT
